Product Features

Thick-wall diecast aluminium watertight electronic instrument enclosure.
Rugged, diecast aluminium alloy is tough yet easy to machine.
No internal ribs for easy installation of connectors without interference or additional milling.
Easy to wallmount using blind thru-box holes (on all sizes except 1550Z102, 1550Z115 and 1550Z120). Access to blind holes is outside of gasket ring to uphold ingress protection.
Unpainted version is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges.
Textured black version is coated with tough polyester powder for a lasting finish, even after machining. Finish is applied outside and inside the enclosure.
Lid is secured with either two, four or six stainless steel Phillips head machine screws, depending on enclosure size.
Lid screws are outside the gasket protection area to eliminate the need for o-rings.
Lid screws are self-captivating on six sizes: 1550Z107, 1550Z108, 1550Z116, 1550Z117, 1550Z137 and 1550Z139. Lid holes are slightly undersized and threaded with the first installation.
Copper grounding screws and washers available separately.
Gasket is pre-formed, one-piece silicone rubber and installs easily into lid groove.
Gasket has a temperature rating of -40°C to +150°C (-40°F to +302°F).

Ratings

cUL and UL listed under file #E71073.
Independently tested to meet IP66, IP67 and IP68 as well as NEMA type 4, 4X, 12 and 13 ratings.
- Customers should conduct their own testing to determine suitability for any specific application.
All sizes except 1550Z101 carry an impact rating of IK08 per IEC 62262.

Product Customisation Options:

What makes KGA Enclosures Ltd different from most other larger distributors is that we can offer full customisation services on all enclosures and accessories. All customisation work is undertaken by the relevant supplier, (some smaller production runs are done by utilizing an outside contractor) at their own manufacturing facilities. These services include milling or punching holes and slots into the enclosure or end plates for cables, connectors, switches, etc. Printing and silk-screening services all for the addition of text, logos, and graphics onto both the enclosure and end plates, to allow the end user to easily identify the product, and to allow the final product to look more elegant.
