1553T Series | Hand-Held "T" Soft Side Enclosures
Soft Sides, Ergonomic Design, Battery Compartments
Product Features
- Ergonomically designed to comfortably fit in the user's hand.
- Both the display and keyboard areas are recessed for membrane devices, perfect for instrument or mobile data enclosures requiring a keypad and display.
- Two sizes available with or without battery door and in black or light grey plastic.
- Hand-held section of enclosure includes a dark grey TPE overmould for a soft grip.
- Moulded from flame retardant ABS plastic with UL flammability rating of 94-V0.
- Enclosure is assembled with M30.5 x 18mm Philips head machine screws threaded into integral brass bushings. Ideal for repetitive assembly and disassembly.
- Integral brass bushings are factory inserted into top half of the enclosure.
- PC board standoffs are moulded into the case top and bottom halves.
- Contains either one or two end panels depending on version, which are removable for easy modification.
- Lap joint construction provides protection against access of dust and splashing water. Versions without a battery door are designed to meet IP54 ratings.
- Battery door and compartment version (part numbers ending in "BAT") includes:
- 1553TT "BAT" versions - 4x battery clips (for 2x AA batteries) and 1x 9 volt (PP3) battery clip.
- 1553T "BAT" versions - 8x battery clips (for 4x AA batteries) and 2x 9 volt (PP3) battery clips.

- Replacement assembly machine screws sold in packs of 100.
- 1594MS100 - silver.
- 1594MS100BK - black.
- Self-tapping PC board mounting screws sold in packs of 50 and 100.
- 1593ATS50 - pack of 50.
- 1593ATS100 - pack of 100.
Battery Clips
- 1553HDR-BKIT - 4 positive and 4 negative clips - for AA.
- BS61 - for 9V batteries.
Belt/Pocket Clips
- Moulded form tough nylon.
- Includes 2x nylon screws (insulated to avoid interference).
- Mounting template included (user drilling required).
- Part number: 1599CLIP - black.
- Part number: 1599CLIPGY - grey.
