Hammond Manufacturing Enclosures - 1553T Series - General Purpose Enclosures

1553T Series - Hand-Hand "T" Soft Side Enclosures
Soft Sides, Ergonomic Design, Battery Compartments
Product Features:
  • Ergonomically designed for a comfortable fit into the user's hand.
  • Choice of two sizes, in two versions (with or without battery door) - in two colours (black or grey).
  • Perfect for instrument or mobile data enclosures requiring a keypad and display.
  • Both the display and keyboard areas are recessed for membrane devices.
  • Moulded from flame retardant ABS plastic, choice of black or light grey - material carries a UL flammability rating of 94V-0.
  • Handheld section of enclosure includes a dark grey overmould, soft plastic grip.
  • Enclosure is assembled with M3-0.5 x 18mm Philips machine screws, threaded into integral brass bushings. Perfect for applications when repetitive assembly and disassembly are required.
  • Integral brass bushings are factory inserted into top half of the enclosure.
  • Lap joint construction provides protection against access of dust and splashing water. Designed to meet IP54.
  • P.C. board standoffs are moulded into the case top and bottom halves (see drawings for more details).
  • Battery door and compartment version (part numbers ending in "BAT") includes:
    • 1553TT "BAT" versions - 4 battery clips (for 2 - AA batteries) and one 9 volt (PP3) battery clip.
    • 1553T "BAT" versions - 8 battery clips (for 4 - AA batteries) and two 9 volt (PP3) battery clips.
  • Contains either one or two end panels (depending on version) - removable for easy modifications.
  • Bottom half of enclosures include moulded in label recess on back:
    • 1553TT "BAT" versions - 1.73" x 1.30" (44mm x 33mm).
    • 1553T "BAT" versions - 2.20" x 1.65" (56mm x 42mm).
Assembly Screws:
  • Replacement assembly machine screws sold in packs of 100.
    • 1594MS100 - Silver.
    • 1594MS100BK - Black.
  • Self tapping PC board mounting screws sold in packs 50 and 100.
    • 1593ATS50 - Pack of 50.
    • 1593ATS100- Pack of 100.
Belt/Pocket Clips:
  • Moulded from tough nylon.
  • Includes 2 nylon screws (insulated to avoid interference).
  • Mounting template included (User drilling required).
    • Part number: 1599CLIP - Black.
    • Part number: 1599CLIPGY - Grey

Customisation Options
What makes KGA Enclosures Ltd different from most other larger distributors is that we offer full customisation's services on all enclosures and accessories. All customisation work is undertaken by the relevant supplier, (some small projects are done utilizing outside contractors) at their own manufacturing facilities. These services include milling or punching of hole and slots into the enclosure or end plates for cables, connectors, switches etc. Printing and silk screening services allows for the additional of text, logo's and graphics onto both the enclosure and end plates, to allow the end user to easily identify the product as well as giving the final product a more elegant finish. A third party shop can add time and expense. Let us help you to deliver quality products made to your exact specifications.

  • Hammond Manufacturing offers a wide selection and massive inventory of enclosures ready to be modified.
  • Typically the minimum order quantity is 25 pieces. This can vary depending on product and service required. Please note KGA Enclosures does not add on any charges.
  • Hammond has an experience enclosure modification team and two dedicated modification facilities in North America and the United Kingdom. They are knowledgeable, available and capable.
  • Hammond Manufacturing helps eliminate scrap and design errors with approval drawings to confirm correct interpretation of your deign required. Many orders will also include a fast delivery of sample enclosures for your inspection. These steps ensure that your assembly fits perfectly before heading into the mass production stage.
